Prawno is an ocean lifestyle clothing brand inspired by the underwater photography of Creative Director, Lia Barrett. Launched in 2013, the collection is known for its hand-printed designs, all created from silhouettes of the people and marine life captured in her acclaimed photography.

With marine conservation at their core, Prawno clothing incorporates fabrics made from natural fibers like bamboo, hemp, and organic cotton, as well as post-consumer plastic bottles and recycled fabrics. They also support projects aimed at improving the conditions of our oceans.

Prawno’s design inspiration comes from Lia’s encounters with marine life and individuals from the far corners of West Papua New Guinea to the deep darkness of the Cayman Trench. She translates her photography into designs for clothing that convey a fascination with the landscapes and creatures of the diverse underwater world, as well as the human role in its conservation.

• Big Blue - By Roland St John: Born in Massachusetts in 1965 Roland St. John has always had a passion for nature since childhood. Now an experienced diver and underwater videographer for over 25 years he has filmed some of the most spectacular marine life around the world. The footage enables Roland to capture the animals in motion, which helps him to sculpt realistic as well as his contemporary works of art. His passion for our oceans has led him to use his art to help create awareness and become involved in protecting threatened species around the world.

• Lionfish Caribbean: The red lionfish (Pterois volitans) is originally from the Indo-Pacific and it's one of the most striking species of the reef. Unfortunately, it has become an abundant invasive species throughout the tropical eastern Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. The lionfish is recognized as one of the most important conservation issues in the world. This is because they lack any natural predators and have voracious appetites and impressive reproductive skills. For instance, a mature female can release about 2 million eggs per year!⁠ Fortunately, there are several organizations trying to diminish the impact of this species on the reefs by controlling its population. Lionfish Caribbean is one of our favorites. They catch and use the spines of the fish to create beautiful jewelry.
